INTRODUCTION

The globalization of the economic activities the world is going through no longer allows a country - nor even an industrial sector - to be unmindful of the initiatives of market integration and thus fail to take advantage of the opportunities to expand its market with the internationalization of its sales.

The Export Plastic Program brings together the experience, dynamism and synergy of the Plastic Production Chain. Added to the governmental effort developed by APEX Brasil - Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency - these three factors aim at providing the Plastic Coverting Industry (3rd Generation) with the necessary base it needs to sail towards the international market. With the concentration of efforts to export plastic manufactured products, we will revert the old scenario of commercial deficits of the Plastic Products Industry and increase the added value of the exported products. The creation of adequate instruments, as it will be detailed later on this program, will significantly revert this situation. The plastic production chain has the potential to provide the Brazilian trade balance with high results if we strengthen the export of plastic manufactured products and diminish the direct export of resin, significantly contributing to the generation of new jobs.

OBJECTIVES

  • Increase exports by approximately US$ 300 million (in the first four years of the Program) totalizing US$ 2-Billion by 2008

The EXPORT PLASTIC PROGRAM, in an integrated and consistent approach, develops and implements strategies wich aims at sustainable increase of the exports of converted plastic products contributing to optimize the utilisation of the industry's installed capacity, generate employment and provide continous technological updates.
